Stolen Car Crashes Into Home, Suspect At Large On Long Island

Police are searching for a person who stole a car from a Long Island home, crashed it into a different home, and fled the scene.

It happened on Tuesday, Oct. 17 in South Floral Park, Nassau County Police said.

That morning, a homeowner on Hill Avenue left their white Honda sedan running in their driveway.

The homeowner noticed an unknown thief hop in the car and drive away.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., the sedan hit a home on Arthur Avenue, substantially damaging the residence.

The thief fled the scene before officers showed up.

No injuries were reported.

Police described the thief as a Black male in his late teens. He was reportedly wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and black sneakers.

The investigation is ongoing.
